Wearing a mask has become essential, the way food and air is essential for our survival. When we have to wear a mask out in public for protection, then why not wear a mask that one feels both protected and good in?
With the beginning of the pandemic in March, and ever since face masks became compulsory, fashion brands jumped at the opportunity to make them reusable and more stylish. Till
then, the market sold primitive
and unfashionable masks,
those at medical stores were
disposable, light blue or green.
Now, it is the newest accessory to complete our look. Having a mask that matches the dress makes the mask more fun to wear, something that is important in such a serious, scary time.
Even if disposable surgical masks
are now much more
readily available, it might
be less wasteful and more
economical to put on a reusable
fabric mask in situations where
we won’t be in close contact with
other people. This also provides an added perk by offering aesthetic appeal for those who are style- conscious. Ideally, a cloth mask must consist of at least three layers of fabric for better protection.
From local bazaars to high-end designers, these masks are everywhere. The market is full of masks with quirky prints, sequins, elegant embroideries, hand-painted designs and what not.
In a bid to show off their creativity, people made reusable do-it-yourself (DIY) cloth masks at home. Old and discarded clothes were used in the making of these eco-friendly homemade masks.
In these new times, important events such as weddings have also adopted new norms. There emerged a new
trend in the Indian
bridal fashion scene.
Now, we can find
brides and grooms
wearing customised
designer masks or colour-coordinating masks with their clothes, making it a fashion statement.
Cloth masks are becoming a way of self-expression. What began as a necessity to battle the novel coronavirus outbreak, has kind of become a new addition to make style statements.
Keeping up with the trend "Sanrakshika" has also started making beautifully designed, stylish, affordable and quality masks available for sale in "Sanrakshika" shop.
FASHION ON YOUR FACE
Just like how sunglasses and hats were used for sun protection initially and later on emerged as a style statement, little did we know, that mask would also become a protective gear and who knows, if it would stay in fashion even after this global pandemic is over?
Masks are going to be around for a long time, so why not make them an object of desire!!
