partner/child working in the CISF, my advice is to just stick to a non-CISF family member.
6. Dress up for no good reason: just yourself (maybe that's pretty good enough)
We ignore the power of a good saree or a nice shirt. It's high time we teach ourselves to dress for ourselves, even without a lockdown. Try it.
7. Take a moment and pay attention to the small things of beauty in your own house
We spend years trying to create a 'presentable' home but so often fail to appreciate that the actual dwelling occurs in the most intimate corners. Take time and marvel at the not so Facebook-worthy portions of your house and even life!
8. Practice your bad jokes on your family and laugh often
Does this need an explanation? Just do it buddy! Nirmala ji won't tax you for jokes.
9. Try your hand at sketching.
Sketchbooks are not just for primary school students! In fact, any other thing that you dismiss as child-like, like playing with clay... do it. The universe wants you to rediscover joy!
10. Read or write a little.
Sit besides your window sometimes, disconnect from your phone and television, pick a book in your mother tongue. Or maybe write about all your troubles... You'll find newer things emerge about your own self, with each scribble you make.
And finally, if nothing else works for you:
Smile, make yourself a cup of coffee and just look at old albums.
You're bound to find hope and inspiration tucked in those dusty pieces of the past.
We've sailed through a lot and we'll sail through this too...
Hope you and yours keep well and come out as better, more compassionate human beings through this hardship that's common to humankind. Charity begins at home, as does kindness... start at home and with yourself.
"The world has slowed down so you can rediscover yourself"
